Pre-Requisites For Admission

AdamontablecropIn order to qualify for the program without needing the Induction classes, you must be a certified health professional (RMT, Chiropractor, nurse, paramedic, etc.) OR have university or college education in health sciences or a physical education related field (Kinesiology, Bio-Med, Life Sciences, Pre-Med, Pre-Health etc).

Don’t have a Health background Or just out of High School?

If you have a post-secondary education in a non-health area, we’ve made it possible for you to study with us simply by taking the Inductions course in combination with our M. OMSc program, to assist you with the anatomy and physiology training you are missing or weak on. The Inductions The CAO’s Induction Course is a PRE-COURSE that is designed to give applicants an introduction to basic anatomy and physiology before entering their first year of the M. OMSc program

Do I need my own malpractice insurance to apply?

Students are not required to obtain their own malpractice insurance to participate in the program as the CAO’s classrooms and student clinic are fully insured already.

What do we look for in a student?

Past Academic performance is not the only marker of a good student. The CAO looks for so much more in a potential student. Work ethic is key; the study of classical osteopathy does not come easily. It requires hours of focus and determination to get through the rigors of this program. Curiosity in the body is important; all of our students are deeply interested in anatomy, physiology and how the body is connected. A natural ability to problem solve is integral; classical osteopathic diagnosis is about finding solutions to problems presenting in the body not about memorizing techniques. A passion for helping people is a must; it is really the only reason to enter into this profession. It must propel everything you do.
